Initial Condition
The building was built in the early 1980s, consists of one floor. The figure of the building originally looked a bit 'fat', with rooms that tend to form elongated and narrow, and includes entrance into the bay. Saddle-shaped roof, big enough and simple. The orientation of the building faces north, but the building facade is shielded from the afternoon sun with a lot of trees around it. Some of the above is what encourages Djohan to dismantle the house, so it can become a comfortable home for his family. One thing that becomes the primary consideration in doing this is to renovate the building electrical and plumbing problems, which must be dismantled total due to age.

Change Design
By maintaining the main structure of the old house, design team tried to present a 'cross-over' new in the house. In addition, they are also trying to strengthen some existing circulation by opening up some areas (walls) long.
Determination of focus-focus of the effort remains in one as (axis) to demonstrate the continuity of space. For example, dining room, pantry, and kitchen are placed in one axis that can be perceived as a unit of space.
Another point of interest that can be directly visible from the entrance is a wall and closet pantry limiting the living room. This barrier cabinets can be seen directly from the living room, because there is no permanent barrier that blocked the view into the house.

Detailed Design

The concept of geometric asymmetry on the building facade is reinforced with grout lines in the aluminum walls of the cube. Nevertheless, the striking impression can be reduced by avoiding the selection of light colors on the face of the building. The colors are chosen to neutralize the atmosphere is white, combined with a warm dark brown as an accent.
